Peninsula Hospital Dental Residency Program

Welcome

Welcome to the new home of Peninsula Hospital's Dental Residency Program, online!

The General Practice Residency Program at Peninsula Hospital Center dates back to 1968 and has graduated almost 300 dental alumni now practicing throughout the United States and Canada.  The program is accredited by the Council on Dental Education.

Applications for the academic year commencing July 1, 2010 may be submitted beginning September 1, 2009.  The resident census will be between 4 and 8 depending on the available pool of qualified applicants.  This is a twelve-month program open to graduates of C.O.D.A. approved dental schools.

Residents place and restore implants on their patients once treatment plans have been approved and financial arrangements have been finalized in conjunction with staff dentists and surgeons.

There are no dental specialty programs at Peninsula Hospital Center enabling our dental residents to manage the total treatment plan without patients being assigned to residents in dental specialty programs.  Our on-site dental laboratory technician allows for active involvement with laboratory and porcelain procedures in which residents may participate.

The program includes three off-service rotations of a 2-week duration – each including Anesthesiology, Family Practice Medicine, Emergency Medicine and Surgery.
